VINEmobile App (Victim Information Notification Everyday)
VINEmobile is the app version of VINE (Victim Information and Notification Everday), the National Victim Notification Network. Victims can use it to register for information on the custody status of offenders 24 hours a day. Survivors can register to receive notifications by phone, email, text message (where applicable) or TTY when an offender's custody status changes.
What We Love:
- Survivors are given the choice over whether to see photos of offenders with their custody status. This option is provided because some survivors may find the photos to be triggering and could cause discomfort.
- The app contains a section with state-specific resources for victims.
Safety & Privacy Considerations / Tips:
- Survivors can connect with the local domestic violence programs to find on-going support services. Many survivors find benefits in attending support groups and the program can assist in safety planning if the offender will be getting released.
