March 2023 - New & Updated Tech Safety Resources

Safety Net is excited to announce our new and updated resources (below)! We hope these materials will help survivors and victim service providers who are trying to navigate technology, privacy, and safety. All of the materials are available in both English and Spanish.

Passwords: Increasing Your Security

This resource is an overhaul of our previous resource on this topic, containing new content. It explains the risks to survivor privacy posted by insecure passwords and different potential strategies to address this issue in privacy planning. It is aimed at survivors, but the content is also useful for victim service providers, both in terms of doing tech advocacy with survivors, and in protecting their own accounts.

Online Privacy and Safety Tips

This resource updates our previous content on online privacy and safety, as well as adding new content aimed at both survivors and providers.

Mobile Advocacy: Privacy & Safety

This resource, aimed at victim service providers, is an overhaul and combination of two previous closely-related resources – one on using mobile phones to communicate with survivors, the other on mobile advocacy – into a single document. It contains additional new content.
